What I Believe

I love many things in life, including blogging, art, family, friends, and so much else. However, none of these are the most important thing in my life, or where my identity is. There is one true purpose that rises above everything in my life: I am a follower of Christ Jesus.

I believe in God. I believe that God is the perfect and all-powerful creator of the universe.

I believe in sin. I believe, as it states in Romans 3:23, that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” This sin breaks our relationship with the Lord, who is perfect. Because of our wrongs, we do not deserve God’s love, and our sin condemns us to the punishment of death in Hell.

I believe in rescue. I believe that “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Around 4 B.C., Jesus, God’s Son, came down to earth and was born as a human. He lived a life without any sin, and eventually died on a cross to take the punishment of death that we deserve. Through Jesus, our relationship with God can be made right. After Jesus died, he conquered death by rising from the grave!

When God saves us, we are no longer condemned to Hell, but are promised eternal life in Heaven, after our life on this earth. God grants salvation to those who trust in Him and believe in Jesus.

Romans 10:9-10 – “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
